STEALTH ASSESSMENT DURING THE DESIGN PHASE

This unique PC software product from CSS provides high resolution RCS simulation based on CAD data.

A user-friendly Windows based graphical display enables precise identification of radar reflecting areas.    It also provides mono pulse pictures, showing where on the object a radar seeker will aim.  The simulator thereby permits continuous stealth assessment of ships, aircraft and other military constructions during the entire design phase.

In other words - this software transforms a highly complex theoretical field into a practical tool, which can be operated by the people who actually do the drawings.

ACCURATE AND RESPONSIVE

The highly advanced 3D calculation technique used in this software is based on 20 years of experience in RCS measuring. Every single program line is written by one person – Gert Lindqvist. This isn't a patchwork, where parts of the code is written by different people. This gives big advantages and permits the programmer to make a special version for each client – so the code fits to the clients requests. Comparison with actual RCS measurements reveals a exceptional accuracy . Due to relatively low cost and commercial PC based processing this software product allows RCS considerations to be an inherent element in all phases - and at all levels - of military design and construction planning. A user-friendly Windows based graphical display enables precise identification of radar reflecting areas. The RCS simulator thereby permits continuous stealth assessment of ships, aircraft and other military constructions during the entire design phase.

The calculation time is dependent on the reflection profile of the object, the desired accuracy and the RAM capacity of the PC; according to several of our users, it is faster than all other RCS prediction tools. When the Win64 bit operation system will be reliable the 64 bit version of cadRCS will be even faster  in computing time, because all calculations is now done in 64 bit on a 32 bit platform.

CALCULATION METHOD

cadRCS theory

The theory used in cadRCS is unique and have never been published. The theory will remain a Css property.

A
great advantage of having a CAD-model of the object in question is that all aspect angles can be examined - which is not possible if only measurement methods are applied. Measurements, on the other hand, are useful for making sure that the model is satisfactory and that chaff and/or RAM (Radar Absorbing Material) are working correctly. Using the CAD-model together with cadRCS offers the opportunity to train the operational staff in examining different attacks, thus training them in ensuring that they are in the best situation for using chaff or other methods to improve their survivability.
